There have been quite a number of stories involving a mirror.
1.
A vain queen looked into her magic mirror.
Mirror, mirror, mirror on the WALL, who is the fairest of them all!
And discovered that her stepdaughter 'Snow White' was more beautiful than her.
Her non-acceptance of this truth drove her to commit cruel deeds.
2.
Alice on the other hand went into a mirror and found a wonderland.
Which one are YOU!
There are 2 sides [versions] for every story!
There are 2 faces in everyone!
The mirror sees well because it does not leave out any!
Polish the mirror!
Then look into it!
MASK
Often we find ourselves unwilling to testify and stand by it.
Instead, we may try to cover it or pretend that we are not. And although we may succeed in convincing others what is untrue; we ourselves will know what is FACT.
Acceptance of what is true about oneself is important. It is like a mirror that sees well. We will then have accurate information as to determine what we have done and what more we have to do.
The difficult part is the acceptance that others do possess good qualities we lack, we are also not lacking in bad qualities and weaknesses as do others.
Being sincere and honest to and about ourselves is one aspect, sincere and honest to and about others is another.
